A TEENAGER will face trial over an allegation that he was racially abusive towards a shopkeeper who would not serve him.
Tyler Cannon, of Carlton Street, Hartlepool, admitted possessing an imitation firearm – a lighter shaped like a Smith and Wesson revolver – but denied a charge of racially-aggravated harassment.
The 18-year-old was given bail until his trial at Teesside Crown Court on January 25.
His lawyer, Andrew Teate, told the court: "He says he did use some choice language when he was refused service, but didn't use the word 'black' or any adjective with it."
