A WOMAN was threatened with a knife in daylight in a town centre.

The 38-year-old woman was unharmed during the incident, on York Road, Hartlepool, at about 4pm on Thursday, October 12.

Police want to trace a member of the public who they believe may be able to help with inquiries.

The man spoke to police briefly at the scene before the officer began to search the area. When the officer returned the man had gone.

A 27-year-old man was charged with threatening a person with a blade or sharply pointed article in a public place.
