SLUMPED: A man was found slumped over the wheel of a car in Hartlepool
A MAN was taken into police custody after being found slumped over the wheel of a car on Sunday morning.
A member of the public called the police after spotting him in the driver’s seat of the blue Renault Clio on the Bishop Cuthbert estate in Hartlepool.
Officers from the Cleveland and Durham Road Policing Unit responded and found that the car matched one reported to have been stolen from the Hartlepool area earlier this week.
The man remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
A spokesman for Cleveland and Durham RPU thanked the person who alerted them to the incident.
