A WALKER had to be rescued from Saltburn’s Valley Gardens after slipping and injuring her leg.
The 56-year-old woman, from the Mansfield area, had slipped around Saturday lunchtime while walking along Skelton Beck from Rushpool Hall with her husband and dogs.
Because it was difficult for the ambulance service to get to her, volunteers from Cleveland Mountain Rescue team were called out.
She was treated at the scene by members of the team and a paramedic from the ambulance service before being carried on a stretcher about 100 metres to a waiting Landrover ambulance.
She was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment.
A spokesman for Cleveland Mountain Rescue said: “Fourteen team members were involved in the incident, that lasted an hour and a half for most of the team, but a couple of hours longer for our IT officer who looked after the family’s dogs for the afternoon.”
