A MAN has sustained injuries after being attacked in a residential area of Hartlepool.

Cleveland Police officers said the incident happened close to terraced housing in the Rubgy Street area, shortly before 7.30pm.

A police spokesman said: "The man’s injuries are not currently believed to be life-threatening and officers remain on scene to conduct inquiries into the circumstances behind this incident."
