A SCHOOLBOY has been arrested in connection with a blaze which destroyed part of a school nursery in Hartlepool.
The 13-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of arson this morning, Tuesday, following a fire at Rift House Primary School on Sunday, May 7.
He is being questioned by detectives from Hartlepool Volume Crime Team and inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
The blaze on Sunday destroyed a year three classroom and the school's nursery, the day before year 6 SATs were due to take place. The school remains closed to all but year 6 pupils taking their tests.
