A 25-YEAR-OLD man suffered stab wounds after the occupants of two cars clashed on the streets of Hartlepool.

Emergency services were called after two incidents involving the occupants of a gold 66-plate Vauxhall Astra and a grey Mercedes Benz E350 in the town between 5pm and 6.30pm on Tuesday, April 4.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “The first altercation is believed to have taken place on Park Road and Osborne Road, before the Astra followed the Mercedes to Shrewsbury Street where a second altercation took place before the Vauxhall Astra made off.”

An ambulance was called to tend to the 25-year-old man who had suffered stab wounds.

He was initially taken to the One Life Centre in Hartlepool before being transferred to James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough.

His injuries were not believed to be life threatening and he was later released from hospital.
