A TEENAGER is being hunted by police after a man was abused and attacked in a supermarket car park.

Cleveland Police said a man in his fifties had been waiting at the entrance of Morrison’s car park on Clarence Road, Hartlepool at around 5.15pm on Wednesday when two people pulled up in a car - thought to have been either an Astra or Corsa.

The passenger, thought to be around 17 years old, got out and verbally abused the victim then went on to punch him repeatedly around the head and body.

The victim sustained injuries to his ear and head.

The attacker then got back into the car and drove off towards the football stadium.

The suspect has been described as being of a large build with short, mousey hair.

He was approximately 6ft tall and was wearing a t-shirt and jogging bottoms. The driver of the car was believed to be in his twenties, of slim build with dark hair.
