RESIDENTS are being urged to turn out in force this weekend to help remove litter and other rubbish from a local beach.
Hartlepool Council’s countryside officer Deborah Jefferson is leading a clean-up of Seaton Carew beach this Sunday (September 18) from 11am as part of the Marine Conservation Society’s (MCS) Great British Beach Clean event.
Anyone wishing to take part in the clean-up should meet at the Seaton Coach Park, people should should wear stout footwear and appropriate clothing.
She said: “The tide of litter washing up on our shores is not just unpleasant to look at it can also harm and even kill some of our best-loved marine wildlife.”
