A DRIVER was remanded in custody after trying to dodge police after the car was flagged by an automatic number plate recognition system.
Checks on the Citroen Xsara Picasso, which was stopped in Hartlepool earlier today, revealed the driver had no licence or insurance and the car was without a valid MoT.
A spokesman for Cleveland and Durham Roads Policing Unit said the driver was arrested and charged with the offences.
However, he was unable to provide a suitable address for a summons to be delivered so instead was remanded in custody to appear before magistrates in the morning.
