CLEVELAND Police were called to the report of a stabbing in Hartlepool this afternoon.
A man was reportedly assaulted in Belk Street area of the town and the investigation is ongoing.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: "We received a call about an incident at 2.55pm and following a search of the area a 25-year-old man was located and had suffered a stab wound.
"He was taken to Middlesbrough's James Cook University Hospital for treatment to his injury."
Anyone with information is asked to call Cleveland Police on 101.
