HUMAN remains found on farmland near Middlesbrough have been confirmed as those of missing father-of-one Paul Kerrison, who disappeared 18 months ago.
The 31-year-old, of Eston, near Middlesbrough, was last seen in New Marske on October 25, 2014, after a night out.
Police launched one of the biggest manhunts the force had seen to trace him. His family feared he had made his way back home across the fields.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: "Police can now confirm that human remains found on farmland near Yearby village on 25th May have been identified as those of Paul Anthony Kerrison who was reported missing in October 2014.
"Our thoughts and sympathies are with Paul’s family and friends at this very sad and difficult time and his family is being supported by specialist officers."
Two months ago his family made an emotional plea to help find the missing father-of-one, who suffered from epilepsy and needed regular medication.
