A PENSIONER suffered head and leg injuries after being hit by a motorbike in Hartlepool at lunchtime.
The 75-year-old was taken to Middlesbrough's James Cook University Hospital for treatment to his injuries.
Paramedics from the Great North Air Ambulance Service treated the pensioner at the scene on Easington Road.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: “A man suffered a fracture to the leg and head injuries when he was involved in a collision with a motorbike.
“The man was airlifted to the James Cook University Hospital. The road was closed in both directions while emergency services assisted the injured man.”
