STUDENTS from Hartlepool Sixth Form College are writing a history book to go on sale later this month.

It will chart the history of Hartlepool Sixth Form College going back to its origins in the early 20th century, with illustrations and memories from former students and staff.

As part of the project, the students have formed their own business and produced a business plan including management, finance and marketing.

Young Enterprise – an organisation that works with young people aged 15 to 19, helping them to find out about what it is like to set up and run a business – is supporting the project.

Mo Bunter of Hartlepool Sixth Form College said: “Students have worked incredibly hard on this project and have learned so much in such a short time.

“In essence they are operating like any other business. Each student has a different role, they have researched their product, carried out market-testing and are now putting the final touches before it goes off to get printed.

“Students gave a presentation recently at an event organised by Young Enterprise and performed so professionally. We were awarded ‘Best Trade Stand’ which is a credit to all the students involved and I am very proud of them.”
