A PENSIONER has given an unusual cat a home after spotting an appeal in The Northern Echo.
Lynn Pratt, of Hartlepool, has taken in the feline thought to be crossed between a domestic tabby and a Siamese cat.
The 75-year-old saw a call for a new owner in the Echo last week and picked up the phone straight away to offer it a permanent home.
"She's lovely and settling in already," said Ms Pratt. "I live on my own and had a cat years ago and when I saw it I was reminded of Sebastian, my cat.
"I thought I can give her a good home."
Originally called Lara, the cat has been renamed Annabell and will join Ms Pratt at home with her pet parrot Harry.
She was found as a stray in Hartlepool two months ago and was taken in by cat-rescuer Fay Irvine, of Fishburn.
Healthy and aged about two or three, she makes noises similar to those produced by the Asian and Burmese cats and has piercing blue eyes.
The cat will join Ms Pratt and her pet parrot Harry.
