A MAN suffered a broken jaw when he was attacked by two men as he walked through Hartlepool.

Cleveland Police have just released details of the violent attack on the 29-year-old as he walked through the recreational ground in the direction of Waverley Terrace from Trentbrooke Avenue on Sunday, April 3 at 8.30pm.

When two men approached the victim and asked him for a cigarette, one of the males punched the man in the face causing him to fall to the ground and then both kicked him whilst he was on the floor.

He managed to run off and later attended James Cook University Hospital where he was treated for a fractured jaw in two places.

The two men responsible are described as white and aged in their mid-twenties. One of the men was wearing a dark tracksuit and the other had a white jacket on and grey bottoms.
