A FUGITIVE rapist with links to the North-East is still being hunted by police after absconding during a day visit to a monastery.

Malcolm Millman, 58, failed to return to a secure facility in Milton Keynes over a week ago after the trip to Great Gaddesden, Hertfordshire and was last seen at Manchester Airport railway station on Monday, October 26 at about 12.30pm.

He is said to have links to the Teesside area, as well as Kent, Warwickshire, London and North Wales.

Thames Valley Police have released a new image of Mr Millman, who they described as a "dangerous sex offender", from Leeds railway station on Sunday, October 25 at 8.50am.

Police want to speak to anyone who may have seen Mr Millman. He was convicted of rape in 1996, has previously threatened victims with a weapon, and poses a risk to women and girls.

Police warned he could be violent, and said the public should not approach him but call 999 immediately.

Officers are also appealing for health workers to report any potential sightings of Mr Millman as he will need medication for existing medical conditions, including heart disease and diabetes, so he may need to visit a GP, chemist or emergency department.

Det Supt Chris Ward from the Thames Valley Police Major Crime Unit, said: “Any piece of information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could be vital to tracing Mr Millman, and ensuring this dangerous sex offender is no longer on the streets posing a threat to the public.”

Anyone with information about Mr Millman’s whereabouts should call Thames Valley Police via 101.
