HARDY souls are in for a treat when they enjoy a night of Spoo-Quay thrill and chills at Hartlepool's Maritime Experience.

Ghouls and monsters will be lurking around the quayside, there’ll be spine-tingling storytelling on board HMS Trincomalee, a devilish disco on the paddle steamer Wingfield Castle, a magician, spooky trails and ghost walks, creepy crawlies and an opportunity to meet Roger Hoover The Witch Remover.

Wendy Rogan, Hartlepool’s Maritime Experience manager, said: “In true Spoo-Quay style, we’re lining up lots of delicious thrills and chills for all the family.

“Don’t worry if you haven’t got your tickets yet – some are still available for this very popular event.”

Visitors are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite Halloween characters and there will be a competition for the best kiddies’ pumpkin.

And to meet demand the event is again taking place on two nights – Friday, October 30 and Saturday 31 from 5.30pm to 8pm.

Tickets cost £4.50 each or £18 for a family ticket (two adults and three children) – under twos are free. They must be paid for and collected in advance from Hartlepool Art Gallery and Tourist Information Centre on 01429-890000.
