A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of arson following a fire at a property in which three people, including a five-year-old child, were sleeping.
The people in the house were awoken by the smell of burning as a result of the incident on Troutpool Close, Hartlepool, at around 3am this morning (Monday, October 5).
A 32-year-old man was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees with breathing difficulties. He has since been discharged. No one else was injured in the incident.
A 39-year-old woman from the Hartlepool area has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life. She remains in custody.
