A MAN suffered two broken legs and broken ribs after a two-vehicle collision on Teesside.

Police are appealing for information after a silver and black Mitsubishi L200 and a blue Skoda Octavia Estate collided on the A178 Tees Road in Hartlepool at the junction with Graythorp Industrial Estate.

"The incident happened at 8am on Monday and as a result of the collision the 50-year-old driver of the Skoda has two broken legs and broken ribs and he is receiving treatment in James Cook University Hospital," said a spokesman for Cleveland Police.

"The 50-year-old male driver and 22-year-old male passenger of the Mitsubishi received minor injuries and the driver received treatment for cuts and grazing at North Tees General Hospital where he was later released."
