OFFICIALS say they are pleased with the interest shown in buying a Grade II-listed property currently owned by Hartlepool Borough Council.
Ward Jackson Park Lodge has not been used for years and Hartlepool Council is currently seeking expressions of interest from anyone keen to use the Grade ll-listed building for commercial purposes. The deadline for submissions is 12pm on Friday, August 14.
The two-storey building, which is in the park's conservation area, has two main rooms downstairs plus a hall, lobby, toilet and utility, and upstairs there are two rooms and a bathroom.
The detached property, which features original sandstone ashlar dressings, has over 350 square metres of land which could accommodate an extension subject to planning approval.
Dale Clarke, the Council’s Estates and Regeneration Manager, said: “We have had a number of enquiries about the lodge so far and are pleased with the level of interest. It’s a very attractive building in a good, accessible location and we are keen to see it brought back into appropriate use. If people are interested but haven’t yet come forward, they still have a few days left to do so and we look forward to hearing from them.”
