THERE’S still time for people to come forward if they are interested in leasing a former park keeper’s lodge.

Ward Jackson Park Lodge has not been used for a number of years and Hartlepool Council is currently seeking expressions of interest from anyone keen to use the Grade ll listed building for commercial purposes – the deadline for submissions is noon on Friday, August 14.

The historic two-storey building, which is in the Park Conservation Area, has two main rooms downstairs plus a hall, lobby, toilet and utility, and upstairs there are two rooms and a bathroom.

Dale Clarke, the council’s estates and regeneration manager, said: “The building is surplus to our requirements. Letting it would bring it back into use and would enable the Council to generate some income, whilst also reducing maintenance costs.

“We have received a number of enquiries about the building so far, but if people haven’t yet come forward they still have time to do so.”

The detached property, which features original sandstone ashlar dressings, has more than 350 square metres of land which could accommodate an extension subject to planning approval.
