A MOTHER has been left battered and bruised after she was attacked as she walked with her young daughter in Hartlepool.

The 44-year-old was allegedly attacked on Friday, July 10 in the Cedar Walk area of Dyke House when the victim was assaulted by a man and two women.

The victim sustained cuts and bruises around her face and body which later required medical attention at the One Life Centre in Hartlepool.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: "The assault stopped when an unknown passer-by shouted for them to stop and the alleged offenders ran off in an unknown direction. Two unknown males who came across the victim and her daughter gave them a lift home.

"Police would like to speak to two women, one described as white, in her 20s, 5 ft 3 ins tall, average build with dark hair and the other woman described as white, of bigger build with blonde hair who was wearing a pink hoodie."

A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed pending further enquiries.
