ONLINE tributes have been paid to a Hartlepool man who died at one of the country's biggest music festivals at the weekend.

Andrew West, also known as Andrew McLeod, 36, was found dead at T in the Park, in Scotland.

Police Scotland said his death at a campsite at Strathallan Castle, Perthshire, was unexplained, but there were no suspicious circumstances.

A police spokesman said: “We can confirm that the body of a 36-year-old man was found on a campsite at T in the Park. The death is currently being treated as unexplained. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. Next of kin has been notified.”

Many tributes have been paid on Facebook to Mr West, who was known as 'Herman' to many of his friends and family.

One said: "Thoughts are with lyndsey and kids xxxx.” Another added: “So saddened by this, such a nice lad. My thoughts go out to his family xx”.

A T in the Park spokesman said: “We are extremely saddened by this news, and our thoughts are with the family at this time.”
