THE Mayor of Hartlepool Stephen Akers-Belcher has been involved in a minor collision.
The incident happened in Grange Road, Hartlepool, near to the junction with Mulgrave Road, at about 10.35am today (Tuesday, April 14), between a Ford Focus and a BMW car.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: “This was a minor collision and there were no injuries to the people involved.
“It looked a lot worse than it actually was.”
The mayor did not suffer any injuries and was seen stood talking to police officers.
A spokesman for Hartlepool Borough Council confirmed Councillor Akers-Belcher had been involved in the collision.
He said: “We can confirm that the Mayor was involved in a collision and we are pleased to report that he is okay.”
