A CHARITY which offers vulnerable young people safe places to stay is looking for volunteer hosts.

Nightstop North-East helps people aged 16 to 25 who are homeless or at risk of becoming so by offering a safe place to sleep, washing facilities and breakfast for up to 14 nights.

About 80,000 young people experience homelessness every year, often through no fault of their own.

Nightstop is asking people with a spare room to consider offering it to a vulnerable young person with nowhere to go.

Hosts do not need to be a homeowner or have previous experience and can choose when and how often they are available for young people to stay.

In return, the host will become a volunteer for a well-established, national charity and receive an expense allowance.

They will also receive full training and 24-hour support from staff.

The charity welcomes applications from single people, couples or people with children.
