A TRAINING course in an increasingly popular form of golf is to be held in Hartlepool as part of a scheme to get more people active.
Golf Xtreme combines the best parts of the traditional sport – hitting balls a long way at interesting targets – with scoring systems that you can create yourself.
The training course, which gives coaches, PE staff and sports volunteers the chance to gain a qualification in running Golf Xtreme sessions for 11-15-year-olds, is to take place at English Martyrs School and Sixth Form on Thursday, March 19 from 4pm-6pm and costs £10 per person.
Organised by Hartlepool Council’s Sport and Physical Activity Team, it is part of its Coach Leader and Volunteer Development Programme.
The course also links in to the Feel Good in Hartlepool scheme which is receiving £192,727 of National Lottery funding via Sport England over three years to increase participation in triathlon (running, swimming and cycling), sailing, multi-sports and dance.
Anyone wishing to take part in the course should contact Volunteer Activator Emily Hunter on (01429) 284415 or email Emily.hunter@hartlepool.gov.uk
