A DOG rehoming charity has thanked a group of bikers who donated a large supply of food to its North East centre.
More than 30 bikers from the Hartlepool Misfits MCC and the Estonians and Teesriders MCC drove from Hartlepool to Dogs Trust Darlington’s Sadberge base to drop off their annual collection of food supplies.
The clubs have been making the journey for 12 years and were this year boosted by the efforts of their youngest member, Caitlyn Rickinson, who sold items at her school fayre to raise extra funds for the collection.
The riders were met at the centre by Sally the Lurcher, who made friends with the riders’ mascot Bud the Pomeranian, while staff and bikers enjoyed tea and biscuits.
Rebecca McKeown, supporter relations officer at Dogs Trust Darlington, said: “On behalf of everyone at Dogs Trust Darlington, I would like to say a huge thank you to the Hartlepool Misfits MCC and the Estonians and Teesriders MCC for their incredibly generous donation.
“We are so thankful to all the members involved for their commitment to the rehoming centre over the past twelve years.
“As always, we were thrilled to receive these wonderful donations and know that the food will go a long way towards helping the dogs in our care.”
