the International Community
Centre, in Abingdon Road, Middlesbrough.
Regular users include the Iraqi
Association, Bengali Institute,
Refuge Forum and Kurdish Community,
as well as Ugandan,
Ethiopian, Pakistani, Indian,
Bengali and Arab groups.
The centre is also home to Middlesbrough
Credit Union, a mental
health services day centre, a
martial arts group, Christian
group, North-East Music Service,
and a Save the Children group,
Tasnim Niaz, centre manager,
said: "This is the biggest refurbishment
in my ten years as manager.
The centre is very welcoming
and is already busy, but we
hope the changes will attract
more people."
