Tees Valley
Youngsters developing green fingers
TEENAGE pupils
have been getting
their hands dirty
while learning about
the benefits of fresh
fruit and vegetables.
The youngsters,
from Northfield
School and Sports
College, in
Billingham, near
Stockton, worked
their green-fingered
magic at Sir Plant-
Alot
Alan Brown, who
runs the business,
near Billingham,
said: "The school
approached us and
asked if we could
help teach the
pupils about
growing vegetables,
and we thought it
was a great idea.
"We gave them
plants to grow and
nurture, and they all
seemed to enjoy it.
It's very important
that we remind
people that fruit and
vegetables don't
just come from a
supermarket in a
plastic bag."
