A MAN has suffered spinal injuries following an incident outside a nightclub.

A black 13 plate BMW collided with a 26-year-old man, who had been assaulted by two men on Redcar High Street.

The victim was attempting to walk away when the collision occurred.

He suffered spinal injuries and is currently detained at James Cook University Hospital.

The incident happened at around 4.30am on Friday, February 16 outside the Aruba Nightclub.

Two men aged 22 and 23 have been arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit grievous bodily harm and both have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Detective Constable Andy Paice, from Redcar and Cleveland Operational Crime Team, said: “I would like to appeal to any witnesses to the incident and any drivers in the area who may have dash cam footage of the incident or the BMW vehicle to get in touch with police.”
