AHOY there me hearties! Redcar Racecourse is all shipshape for its annual Caribbean Carnival Day today.

The Jolly Roger has been hoisted at the popular seaside course for seven races combined with lashings of family fun.

Pirates are telling stories of life on the high seas and teaching pirate chants to young landlubbers.

Children and adults can also enter a Caribbean Fancy Dress Competition – in either a pirate costume or a grass skirt!
