TV star Ricky Tomlinson is showing his support for a terminally ill dad with just months to live and who says the only thing on his ‘bucket list’ is seeing his son hit a cancer fund raising target.

Andrew Tingle’s eight year-old son Callum Lane-Tingle wants to raise £5,000 for Cancer Research by September when family members are taking part in the charity’s Relay for Life event in Middlesbrough.

Callum, a pupil at Stockton’s Fairfield Juniors School, is already on his way to the target with a series of successful events across the region.

The next event to hopefully take the target to it’s goal is taking place at the Hardwick Social Club , Stockton on Sunday, August 6.

Tickets for the fundraiser, which is an 80s themed night, are available from the Hardwick Social Club, Stockton priced at £3 per person.

Mr Tomlinson said: “We met up with the lovely Tingle family recently when I was up there with Goffy. Andy, is a real hero and his son Callum is such an inspiring youngster. I had just spent that afternoon with my young grandson Louis, before I headed to Middlesbrough and meeting the family and knowing the pain they must be going through is almost impossible to put into words here.

“I’m still really moved by the togetherness of the family at this most trying of times. My heart goes out to all of them and I know Callum, will hit his target with the help of the lovely people across Teesside.”

Mr Tingle, 47, an operations director with a pub company, had a kidney and his adrenal gland removed last April after it was revealed he was suffering from kidney cancer.

He has received treatment, but discovered at the end of last month the cancer had in fact spread to other parts of his body, including his lungs, pancreas and lymph nodes in his neck.

Mr Tingle, who is married to wife Cheryl and also has a two year-old daughter Chloe.
