TWO people have been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after patrolling police officers spotted a vehicle travelling on the wrong side of the road.
After Cleveland Police officers caught up with the vehicle in Hartlepool late on Friday, they found it had been parked and the occupants were standing next to it.
It remains unclear which area of the town the vehicle had been travelling.
Both driver and passenger were breathalysed at the roadside and were arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.
The vehicle was also seized for being used without insurance.
A police spokesman said: "They will be both interviewed once sober."
More to follow.
