THE Cleveland Show will be taking over Middlesbrough’s Stewart Park at the weekend as organisers hope to deliver some family favourites with a bit of a twist this year.
The annual event will see the return of sheep and ferret racing while younger visitors will be able to enjoy the new Children’s Fun and Education Zone.
Show secretary Val Thomson said the entertainment draws in the crowds but the animals remain the central part of the show.
She said: “The animals are still a very big attraction and still a very big draw for people.
“Originally we were an agricultural show and our motto is 'see the country come to the town' - bringing all the animals into town so the town folk could see which animals we’ve got.”
The judging will go on throughout the day at various places around the park.”
The Show is on Saturday, July 26 between 9am and 5pm.
Entry is £6 for adults, £4 for children and OAPs and £15 for a family ticket (two adults and two children). Parking is free.
