A TRAINING centre where comedian Vic Reeves served an engineering apprenticeship will hold a 40th anniversary reunion.
S W Durham Training, in Newton Aycliffe, is inviting all past staff and apprentices to a reunion event later this month.
The training centre, on Aycliffe Business Park, opened its doors to apprentices in September 1967 and has since trained 10,000 apprentices.
Among them was comedian Vic Reeves, real name Jim Moir, who trained as a mechanical engineering apprenticeship before becoming a television star.
As part of the celebrations the centre will hold an open day feature old photographs on Thursday July 17, from 2pm to 8pm, with past apprentices and staff encouraged to call in between 5pm and 6pm.
