A HOUSE builder is transforming 56 acres of land earmarked for regeneration into 250 environmentally-friendly homes.
The Vivo development, on the banks of the River Tees, in Stockton, will feature solar panels and harvested rainwater as part of its design.
The first phase is for 50 two, three and four-bedroom homes, which will overlook the Infinity Bridge and have been designed as part of a competition run with the Royal Institute of British Architects.
Sitting just off Northshore Road, the development is a joint project from urban regeneration specialists Muse Developments and house builder Lovell.
The housing scheme is part of the £300m Northshore, development designed to transform Stockton's Riverside by building 1.8 million sq ft of offices, leisure and retail accommodation and high-quality housing within walking distance of the town centre.
Once completed, the Northshore scheme could create in the region of 4,500 jobs.
Lovell sales advisor Anita Onal said: "This development has been designed to appeal to savvy buyers who want to take positive steps towards limiting their own carbon emissions and be part of a sustainable community, while also living in a fashionable area that benefits from sitting close to all of the facilities they need."
