A POLICEMAN wants to find the original owner of a piece of force history after he recently purchased an engraved stirrup clock.
Sergeant Tim Brown, of Hartlepool’s neighbourhood police team, came across the clock on an online auction site and after reading the inscription, he could not resist purchasing the piece of police memorabilia.
Despite research, he has been unable to find information about the original owner or how the clock ended up where it did.
He said: “The clock is a stirrup clock and is basically a stirrup, as seen on saddles, with a clock suspended on it.
“On the clock is an inscription that reads ‘To Colonel H.G.Faber from Stockton Police 1957’.
“Despite the significant search, I cannot find any further information about Colonel Faber, or his connection to Stockton police and I would love it if somebody could shed any light on this.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt Brown on 01642-302126
