A SUITCASE which unfolds into a pushchair, a clown’s wig and more than 40 vacuum cleaners feature in a new exhibition.
Preston Hall Museum, in Stockton, is hosting an exhibition called Too Much Stuff, which includes a host of objects that rarely see the light of day.
Stockton Borough Council’s museum service has more than 100,000 objects in its archive, but only five per cent of these are on display at any one time.
A review of what needs to be kept is taking place and is explained within the exhibition.
Councillor Mary Womphrey, cabinet member for arts, leisure and culture, said: “This exhibition is a fantastic opportunity to see some of the weird and wonderful objects in the museum’s collection.
“We all know how much stuff we collect over the years and the museum is no different. This is a glimpse of some gems.”
Preston Hall Museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10am until 4.30pm.
