Appeal after sheepdogs stolen from farm

POLICE are appealing for information following the theft of three sheepdogs.

The border collies were stolen from a farm near Newton-Le-Willows, near Bedale, North Yorkshhire, between midnight on Sunday, February 5 and 5.30pm the following day.

The thieves broke into a shed where the dogs were secured.

The stolen sheepdogs are two black and white bitches one aged 14 months, with a smooth coat, and a seven year old. The third is a seven-year-old red and white dog.

PC Dave Cousins, of Leyburn police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who can help to recover the dogs to contact the police or Crimestoppers as soon as possible.

”I would like to speak to anyone who may have been offered any of the dogs for sale or knows of someone who has recently acquired a sheepdog in unusual circumstances and ask them to come forward straight away."

Anyone who can help the police with their enquiries is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101. Press option two and ask for PC Cousins.
