ACTORS aiming to bring the life of James Herriot to the stage have visited a museum set up about the popular literary vet.
Cast members from All Creatures Great and Small set to be performed at the Gala Theatre, Durham, have visited Thirsk.
They headed to the World of James Herriot, Hambleton District Council’s James Herriot themed museum, for inspiration on September 8.
Janet Watson, visitor services officer at the World of James Herriot, said: "They have had a look around the centre.
"The whole cast came to see the exhibits and they have heard anecdotes from Rosie Page, James Herriot’s daughter, who did a fantastic job on the tour.
"We’re not helping with the play but as part of the James Herriot convention this year from October 1-3 we are going to see it."
All Creatures Great and Small runs at the Gala Theatre between September, 30, and October, 16, at 7.30pm with a matinee on Saturday at 2.30pm.
There are no shows on Sundays and tickets are £15, concessions £13 and first night tickets and matinees are £12.
Details can be obtained from the Gala’s box office on 0191-332-4041 or www.galadurham.co.uk.
