ALMOST 40 new homes are to be built, for sale and rent, in Hambleton and Richmondshire by the national housing and regeneration delivery agency.
The Homes and Communities Agency has confirmed funding for the homes and work will begin later this year.
They include four homes for rent and eight homes for intermediate rent in Scotton and funds to provide eight at the YMCA in Richmond. There will be six new homes for rent in Swainby and eight for rent and four for sale at Quaker Lane, Northallerton.
The HCA’s head of area Naz (CORRECT) Parker said: "It is excellent news for local residents in North Yorkshire that we are able to provide funding for 38 new homes to be completed over the next two years.
"We have worked with our partners to identify their housing priorities and to ensure that we are able to give best value for money."
He added: "All the construction work will start this year and includes 34 new homes for rent and 4 for sale which will offer local residents the opportunity to live in the homes that are most appropriate to their circumstances."
These homes are being funded through the National Affordable Housing Programme as a part of a £44m investment across to meet the specific needs of different communities.
