A TEENAGER has been arrested on suspicion of rape after a teenager was attacked in York.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested and released on conditional bail following an incident on Hob Moor in the city, an area of common land.

And officers want to speak to someone who was in the area at the time of the attack on Thursday evening, who they believe could provide important information.

The victim was said to be pushed against a garden fence in the alleyway between Hob Moor and Hob Moor Drive shortly before the attack.

And police said a man, possibly a runner, passed the victim and asked her if she was all right.

Officers want him to come forward and are also keen to hear from any other witnesses.
