A MOTORIST who had been on the roads less than a year after a drink driving ban has been disqualified again.
Diego Miguel Ferrera Filipe was stopped by police on the A59 near Knaresborough after officers received a report that he had been driving erratically on the A648 near Huby.
He was pulled over in the early hours of July 2017 and failed a roadside breath.
Filipe then refused to give a further test at Harrogate police station.
He was charged and appeared before Harrogate Magistrates this week where he pleaded guilty to failing to provide a breath specimen for analysis.
Filipe was handed a 40-month driving ban and ordered to pay over £700 in fines and costs and to carry out 100-hours of unpaid work.
It emerged that the 35-year-old, of Claro Road, Harrogate, has a previous conviction for drink driving in May 2015, and had been back on the road for just ten months after serving a 14-month driving ban for that offence.
