A WOMAN is £2,600 worse off after her bank cards were stolen and money withdrawn.

North Yorkshire Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to identify regarding an incident of theft and fraud at the Hotel Du Vin in York.

Between 7.40pm on November 24, 2017, and 12.30am on November 25, 2017, an offender broke into a hotel room and stole numerous bank cards.

The victim, who was staying at the hotel with her husband, received a call to the hotel room on the morning of November 25, 2017, from someone who said they were calling from Barclay’s Bank.

She did not know her bank cards had been stolen at the time, and provided personal details, including her PIN number, to the person on the phone.

When she noticed the cards were stolen, her bank informed her that £2,600 had been withdrawn from her account that morning from Barclays’ Bank in High Street, Doncaster.

Anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV image, or who has any information, is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 12170211587.
