A RESCUE centre desperate to find a home for loveable resident Lulu, has created a calendar containing pictures of her, to find the dog a new owner.

Moor-view Rescue, based at Bewerley in North Yorkshire, hopes to show people just what an adorable dog Lulu is by putting photographs of her together for a new calendar.

The cross breed has been at the centre for more than seven months and the rescue centre is at a loss to explain why a home hasn’t yet been found for her.

She was picked up as a stray, but didn’t have a microchip so her past owner was never found. After spending a week in the local authority pound, the seven-year-old dog faced being put to sleep until Moor-view stepped in.

The centre says despite being older than most dogs at the centre, she has the energy of a puppy and loves long walks.

She is in need of a quiet home where she is the only pet. According to the centre, she knows lots of commands and is quite good on the lead. She is about the size of a Labrador, and can be quite strong when she is anxious or stressed, so would benefit from a patient and experienced owner.

Michelle Hennon from Moor-view said: “Lulu is so full of love and fun, and adores people, greeting them with a wagging tail and lots of kisses. We just don’t understand why she’s still with us and we’re hoping her calendar will catch the eye of someone who can give her a good home.”

The calendar costs £8 plus £3.40 postage and can be ordered by emailing; michelle@sparklingexperiences.co.uk.

It features photos taken by specialist pet photographer, Karen Price, who regularly photographs the rescue dogs in her own time, as well as pictures taken by other Moor-view volunteers.

Money raised from sales of the calendar supports the cost of looking after Lulu and other animals at Moor-view.
