A STONEMASON at one of the largest medieval buildings in Europe has won a national award recognising excellence in her craft.
Victoria Darley, from York Minster, was presented with the Duke of Gloucester Award for Excellence in Stonemasonry.
The award was presented by His Royal Highness the Duke of Gloucester at an awards ceremony in London earlier this month.
Victoria started as an apprentice at the Minster seven years ago and has recently completed her first carving for the cathedral, a figure of King Solomon which was returned to the South Quire Aisle last month.
