THREE people were hurt, one seriously, in an attack in York at the weekend.

And a man from the North-East has now been charged with wounding and assault following the incident.

A man in his 60s suffered serious head injuries in the incident on Station Road near York’s Principal hotel at around 9.40pm on Saturday. He remains in hospital. A 26-year-old man and a woman in her sixties sustained minor injuries.

A 33-year-old man from North Shields has been charged with wounding and assault and is due to appear at York Magistrates' Court on 26 October 2017.
