SHAKESPEARE fans across the region will be in line for performances starting at £12.50 a seat at a planned new pop up theatre.
Lunchbox Theatrical Productions, based in Ryedale, are set to construct a 900 seater theatre on the Castle car park in York from June to September next year.
It’s estimated the dramatic new theatre, based on Shakespeare’s original theatre, will generate around £7m for the city if permission is given by the council for the land to be temporarily used.
Supporters say the theatre will bring a new vibrancy to the region with the council receiving a bonus of £197,000 for the use of the car park area next to Cliffords tower.
