THE Heart of Yorkshire, which dominates York Minster’s Great West Window, has inspired a new sterling silver jewellery collection by Azendi.
The award-winning jewellery brand has worked with the cathedral to launch the collection based on the famous stained-glass window.
The window was built between 1338 and 1339 has been nicknamed the Heart of Yorkshire due to its distinctive flowing stone tracery.
Designers at Azendi took inspiration from the Gothic architecture to develop the range, now available in the York Minster shop as well as Azendi’s store on Low Petergate.
Chief executive Lynsey Cooke said: “I love walking past the Minster and admiring the building’s beauty. It was natural to draw inspiration from the stonework and create a design around it.”
